INTRODUCING CHRIS KROENLEIN’S K-LINE GUITARS
“Chris Kroenlein just seems to understand how to craft an extraordinarily playable guitar, and we can’t think of anything more valuable or desirable in a custom built instrument that also happens to be very reasonably priced.” – click here to read article
K-LINE TEXOLA REVIEW
“We think the Texola is simply one of the coolest guitars we have ever seen, played or reviewed.”
“…The Texola is a joy to play due to Chris Kroenlein’s keen sense of what makes a perfect neck shape. Add signature tones that can’t conveniently categorized or pegged and you have what we like to fondly call a ‘keeper’ ” – click here to read article
K-LINE SPRINGFIELD – 2011 GUITAR OF THE YEAR WINNER, Best Electric Guitar over £1000.
“We all know the famous make this Springfield looks like, and you can all make your own judgements as regarding the rights and wrongs of that. However, what is beyond question is that K-Line’s Chris Kroenlein possesses the skill to produce an electric guitar of the highest order. Designed to evoke the look, feel and tone of a 1950s six-string, the K-Line Springfield is a top-class handbuilt instrument – and it comes dressed up in one of the most meticulous aged paint jobs we’ve ever seen.
Missouri-based Kroenlein was not afraid to veer from the usual vintage-lovin’ spec’ trail in one or two key places when he drew up the plans for the Springfield, most notably in regards to the fretboard radius and neck pocket angle. The mojo remains undiluted, but the result is an effortless player that sings like a soulful canary.
Our review guitar was fitted with custom-wound Klein pickups voiced for a subtle scoop in the midrange, which proved just about perfect for old-school blues tones, both clean and dirty. But K-Line is a flexible little operation and the paying customer can have a say in the choice of pickups, hardware and colour. “Distressed” finishes aren’t to every guitarist’s liking, but this Springfield wasn’t half as distressed as the poor reviewer when we had to send it back.
