Pickups

All K-Line pickups are wound in house using special, proprietary wire and magnets to ensure the highest quality pickups for our guitars.  Every pickup is wound by hand, one at a time,  by Chris Kroenlein. After years of reverse engineering original vintage pickups, we have captured the wind patterns and tension to produce the best possible vintage recreations. They come standard on all K-Line Guitars and can be purchased as replacement pickups as well.

****All pickup orders are 1-2 weeks as of 2/16/2025***

**All Telecaster pickups are wound Bridge CW North UP, Neck CCW South Up.**

Telecaster®

Signature™

Bridge is wound with 42AWG to a specified number of turns. Tonally full with an excellent balance of tight lows, warm midrange, and just enough top end brilliance. Neck pickup is also wound with 42AWG along with a nickel silver cover to produce a clear, dynamic tone. Low wind bridge can ordered that is just a bit less mid range. This set comes standard on all Truxton models unless otherwise indicated.

Nocaster® Tele

The alnico 3 magnet produces a warmer tone with a round low end and nice articulation throughout. Matches well with the Signature neck model.

’52 Tele Bridge

Mid to upper 6k output with alnico 2 magnets.  Soft highs and nice articulation.  Mid output pickup, very piano like attack.

60’s

Bridge is wound with traditional 42AWG plain enamel wire to produce a balanced mid 60’s vibe. Bright top end with just enough mids and bottom end. The neck is wound with 43AWG plain enamel wire and nickel silver cover to produce a nice balanced tone without the brass cover darkness.

Humbuckers

All humbuckers are made with 42AWG plain enamel wire, wound to specific turn count based on a set of original PAFs from 1959.  Butyrate bobbins and maple spacers. The materials used are made to replicate the ever sought after tone of the 1959 PAFs.  What made them special was the clarity on the top end and the ability to push the front end of the amp when needed.  Clear, balanced, and as close to a real PAF as we have heard.  Available in 4 outputs to mix and match to dial in your specific needs.  Also available in an F spaced bridge.  Nickel silver, double black, or Zebra.

Traditional P90

Available as soap bar or dog ear. Alnico 5 magnets along with 1018 steel pole piece make for a traditional P90 punch. Wound with plain enamel wire to a set number of turns, just as they did them back in old Kalamazoo factory. Neck wound a bit less wire for a nice calibrated set. Outputs in the low to mid 8K range.

**All strat pickups are wound Neck & Bridge CW South Up, Middle CCW North Up. Please email after order if you need something different.**

Stratocaster®

’58™/’63™

Late 50’s/Early 60’s formvar style pickups featuring alnico 5 staggered (vintage or modern for 10″ and up radii) pole magnets. Flat pole available on request. Output is in the upper 5K range with a hotter bridge designed to get rid of the typical icepick. Woody tone, slightly transparent mids, and a sparkle on the top end. The ’63s are just a hotter version with outputs in the low 6K range with a hot bridge pickup.

’64s™

Transition era pickups featuring staggered alnico 5 magnets and plain enamel wire. Outputs are calibrated to provide a nice balance between the pickups positions with a hot bridge pickup. The PE wire provides a piano like attack and will be hotter than the ’60s but will not push the front end of your amp. Nice piano like tone.

Signature™

Flat pole alnico 2 magnets provide a nice balanced attack. Play them soft and they have a nice round, warmth. Hit them hard and the notes blossom with a soft decay. Height adjustments can be made to vary the tone due to the low strength of the magnets. Very balanced across the spectrum. Available as a flat pole or vintage stagger. Outputs are in the mid 5K range with a hotter bridge. Ideal to tame a bright ash/maple guitar.

Greybacks™

Reminiscent of the ’69 Strat® pickups that are so familiar on the master’s recording.  Alnico 5 magnets that produce the chime and bite associated with that era. Staggered pole or flat pole design.
