The guitars are built using wood that is hand selected for optimal tonal response, milled, and shaped for its specific application. K-Line’s are not parts guitars. Each guitar starts out with a plank of wood for the body, a blank for the neck until it is CNC’ed to the customer’s specifications. I am not in the common practice of throwing together off the shelf parts and filing orders.
Every neck features hand-rolled fretboard edges, along with a thin silky finish, giving them that 40 year old look and feel. These necks are then matched to each body to maximize the tone and produce optimal resonance. This is what differentiates K-Line™ from the other guitars you may find at even twice the cost.
In addition to being great-playing instruments, K-Line Custom Guitars™ are aesthetically satisfying. Every guitar is finished in a variety of historically-accurate classic guitar colors and topped off with nitrocellulose lacquer - no poly here! No guitar leaves the shop unless it passes our meticulous quality control. Additionally, you may choose for your instrument to undergo a proprietary process in which the bodies and components are cosmetically distressed to resemble classic guitars that have been “loved and respected, but played often”, giving each guitar a distinct character of its own. This imbues our instruments with a worn in (but not worn out!) feel.
K-Line Guitars offers several options, including:
- Custom neck and body specifications, or a choice of a variety of profiles.
- Fretboards - maple, rosewood, others.
- Pickups - Lollar, Klein, and Dimarzio Area pickups are the standards for pickups choices.
- Vintage code correct colors. If you can provide the make, model, and year of a car color you like, we can do it.)
We offer as full warranty on our fine instruments. If you don’t like it, send it back. No questions. Shipping is excluded from the refund process.
Our K-Line Time Kapsule SeriesTMguitars feature a silky smooth hand rubbed, vintage -tinted nitro finish, with hand-contoured fingerboard edges to simulate 40 years of wear but without the worn look.
